A snow clad mountain top just after Rohtang La

A typical tarred mountain road

Tarred roads had ended and narrow pebbled roads had begun
These smiling boys were among the rare sightings of people en route

A road to nowhere!

Trishul!

Road seems to disappear into wilderness

Such roads are never ending with no single soul in sight

No, it's not a lake. It's snow!

Snow seems to find shelter between peaks!

Turns like this gives hope of something else beyond; not to be!

Then comes Chandra river..

Driving along the Chandra river is cathartic

Back to long 'unending' roads through pebbles

Wow! Where did they come from? They could be thinking the same about me too!

All through the drive, nature showcases her stunning looks

Finally, I am in Batal. Chacha- Chachi's Dhaba not only offers delicious meal, but a satellite phone too.
There are no signals or call facilities beyond this point.

A look of surroundings from Batal. Here we a take a deviation to Chandratal while the highway (!) leads to Losar, Kaza and Tabo. Re-Kong-Peo is many days away

Chandratal is 14 KMs away from Batal

Roads are narrower; but there are some bikers as 'company'

Finally, I have reached Jamaica's tent place where I pitched my own tent. It's my car and tent.

Now driving to the destination ..

Chandratal-my destination! Nature can't hide its beauty

At 14,100 ft (4300 meters), Chandratal is a dream destination and the drive to it a lifetime experience

This is my Screen Saver on the phone. Beauty of nature is in abundance around
